Caffe Latte and Latte Machhiato

Caffe latte and latte machhiato had confused many coffee lover or even some barista.

I was asked by one of the barista yesterday. However both drinks are very similar to each other.
So what their different?

Caffe Latte 

Caffe Latte are the combination of espresso, milk and micro milk foam. Caffe Latte are a common drink in most of the cafe and it come with a latte art. Since the drink are already combine or mix together, we unable to determine the separate layer of the milk and espresso. 

Latte Machhiato 

On the other hands, latte machhiato are commonly seen in the menu of automated espresso machine.
Due to the lack of flexibility, latte machhiato come in 3 separate layer. The milk at the bottom, follow by the espresso and the milk foam on the top.
